Apicoetomy

An apicoectomy is needed when a standard root canal doesn't solve the issue. An apicoectomy is a common dental procedure that removes swollen gum tissue and the root end of the tooth while leaving the top of the tooth in place. It is often called a root resection because it works on the end (or tip) of the root, the apex.
